Team Round
1. On an aerial photograph, the surface of a reservoir is a circle with diameter whose length is 7/8 in. If the scale of the photograph is 6 miles to the inch, find the area of the surface of the reservoir in square miles.
2. Jake and Andy swim back and forth in lanes in a 25 meter pool. Jake's speed is 3 km/hr and Andy's speed is 2 km/hr. They start at the same time from opposite ends of the pool. Jake stops after swimming 1 kilometer. How many times did they meet?
3. At a fast food restaurant, 3 burgers, 7 milk shakes, and 1 order of fries cost $12.00, while 4 burgers, 10 milk shakes, and 1 order of fries cost $16.45. How much would it cost for 1 burger, 1 milk shake, and 1 order of fries?
4. A circle has radius 6. Two smaller concentric circles with radii r and s, where r<s, are constructed such that the areas of the three non-overlapping regions that result are all equal. Find the value of s-r?
5. In the figure, OACB is a kite, AO = b, and OB = a. Find the coordinates of C in terms of a and b.
